With over 20 years experience in the Golf and Hospitality industry, Dan attended Southern Arkansas University as a Business Management major. His professional career began in the late 1980s joining the PGA of America as an apprentice and working his way through the program, ultimately becoming a PGA member in 1995. Dan is currently a member of the Illinois PGA Section.
Dan has seen the Golf and Hospitality business from all sides: from a playing Professional in the early 90's; to a General Manager of golf facilities working with big box retail stores; to ownership of restaurants and hotels; Dan's varied and well-rounded background brings forth a knowledge base that is second to none as he brings a wealth of hands-on experience and information from the ground level up. In 2000, Dan became General Manager/Owner of a family restaurant and was on site as the business grew and developed into a thriving operation. Using his expertise and management skills to develop key policies and procedures for the restaurant, along with various marketing campaigns he created, resulted in the success of the most critical stage of any new business during the first three years.
In 2001, Dan was again sought for the role of General Manager for Cendant and Choice Properties as he worked on expansion and construction of the family hotel business. His efforts in converting a newly built $4M Super 8 property to a Comfort Inn & Suites in the first year of operation was a key factor in the lodging company's success. In 2006, Dan joined one of the top 5 golf management companies in the country as General Manager. His experience and forward thinking principles allowed two different facilities to achieve their best years since its inception, most notably a 60% increase in gross revenue the first year and a 300% jump in merchandise sales. In addition, he increased the customer base by 19% when the economy was also causing a dwindling in recreational sports interest.
Dan's strength lies in abstract thinking and a willingness to be open minded for the sake of a successful operation. The core of what Quality Golf Management is built upon.
